Phillip Finley
Dr. Phillip Finley was born in Pratt Kansas, and lived in both Kansas and Oklahoma respectively. Phillip has been with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since 1989, where he has worked in the areas of Infectious Disease, Environmental Health, Tuberculosis, and Global Health. Phillip currently works in the Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) as a Senior Public Health Advisor, providing program support for both Kenya and Thailand research activities. Phillip has worked and lived in Africa (Abuja, Nigeria), and has provided support for several other African, Asian, and Caribbean countries. As a runner, Phillip has now completed over 600 road races across all distances from 200-mile ultra-road race events with friends, marathons, 5 and 10k's. His proudest accomplishments includes 16-marathons as well as completing Boston in 2000 and 2001, and placing 15th overall, 3rd in his age group at the Kansas City Rub Run Marathon in 2000. Dr. Finley is the Senior Pastor for Common Ground Baptist Church, Sandy Springs, and an accomplished author.
