Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo presented by Publix Moves to Lenox Square
ATLANTA - March 25, 2025 - The countdown to the 56th Running of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race is on. Registration opens April 1, inviting 55,000 participants to take part in Atlanta's biggest Fourth of July tradition and the world's largest 10K.
This year, the Peachtree is expanding into a full race-weekend experience. For the first time, the Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo presented by Publix will move from the Georgia World Congress Center to Lenox Square, marking one of the biggest changes in race history. The move creates a walkable, multi-day celebration in the heart of Buckhead, where participants can pick up their race numbers, explore restaurants and shopping and take in the excitement leading up to race day.
"The Peachtree has always been more than just a race—it's a tradition," said Rich Kenah, CEO of Atlanta Track Club and race director of the Peachtree. "Participants want more than a start-to-finish-line experience. By moving the Expo to Lenox Square, we're creating a vibrant hub where runners can connect, dine, shop and preview their start before race day. It's about making Peachtree a full celebration, not just a single morning event."
The Expo will take place on Wednesday, July 2, and Thursday, July 3, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., leading into the Chick-fil-A Peachtree Junior on the morning of July 3 and culminating in race day for the Peachtree on July 4. The morning of the race, part of the Expo space will be transformed into the AJC Oasis, a place to meet up with friends, carb load, hydrate and catch a glimpse of the world's most elite runners as they take off down Peachtree Road.
"The Peachtree Road Race is one of the most highly anticipated events in Atlanta and beyond, and Lenox Square has been honored to play a key role every year," said Robin Suggs, General Manager of Lenox Square. "Now, as home of the Expo, we're excited to kick off the runners' race experience with additional opportunities to explore impressive retail and dining offerings and make memories at our property."
From July 2 at 12 a.m. to July 4 at 11 a.m., Peachtree Road from Lenox Parkway to Lenox Road will be closed, creating a festival-like atmosphere where participants can take photos at the starting line, explore Buckhead's dining and shopping and soak in Atlanta's biggest running tradition. Eight partner hotels in the Lenox area will offer special rates for those looking to stay in the heart of the action. Visit Atlanta Track Club's website to view options and make a reservation starting next Tuesday, April 1.
Registration for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race opens April 1 and runs through April 30. Atlanta Track Club members receive guaranteed entry at the lowest price of $55 and placement in Start Waves A-M. Due to increasing demand, non-members must enter the lottery for a chance to participate at a price of $65. All lottery entrants have an equal chance of selection, with results announced in early May.
Runners looking to bypass the lottery can either become an Atlanta Track Club member or register through Peachtree with a Purpose: Kilometer Kids Charity Waves, which offer two options: a $300 entry with guaranteed placement in Wave C or earlier, or a $500 entry with Wave A placement, both supporting Atlanta Track Club's free youth running initiatives.
At the finish line, Peachtree is introducing a brand-new post-race celebration. While the Atlanta Track Club Member Party will not return in 2025, all finishers aged 21 and older will receive a SweetWater Brewing beer. Multiple beer gardens will be set up in Piedmont Park's Meadow, creating a festive atmosphere where participants can raise a glass, celebrate their finish and soak in the Fourth of July atmosphere. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. Additional post-race festivities will be announced soon.
