Atlanta Track Club Internship Program

Atlanta Track Club looks forward to sharing a behind-the-scenes experience with college students studying event management, marketing, non-profit organizations, and sports management. Our internships allow students to perform mission-critical roles for our business development, community outreach, events, and marketing teams. These positions are ideal for organized self-starters who seek to sharpen their skills alongside dedicated leaders and professionals in a team-oriented and community-focused environment.

Internship Requirements

Core requirements for an internship with Atlanta Track Club include:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Sound organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving experience.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday, as well as evenings and weekends for events.

Internship Qualities

A demonstrated commitment to running and fitness along with knowledge of Atlanta Track Club, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race and the Metro Atlanta running community is preferred. Beginning in early May, this program will provide interns firsthand exposure to best practices for non-profit organizations, learn multiple aspects of large-scale event management, be trusted to represent Atlanta Track Club in the community and have the unique opportunity to interface with athletes at all levels.

Internship Tasks

Interns will have the opportunity to gain experience in each of the following areas:

  • Business Development - Acts as a liaison between the Events and Business Development teams, supporting sponsor areas, post-race area and Expo site at Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race. Provides overall assistance with sponsorship communication and activation for events and programs taking place during the internship.
  • Marketing - Partners with Marketing Managers in driving strategic application of news and information for social growth, including social campaign development.
  • Community Outreach - Assists staff members and coaches with In-Training for Peachtree, youth programs, members programs, and charity execution.
  • Events - Supports the event staff in multiple capacities with preparation and execution of all events taking place during the internship.

  • Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race Preparation - June 30 through July 1st
  • Peachtree Health & Fitness Expo Presented by Publix - July 2nd & 3rd
  • Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race - July 4th
