Eric Nelson

Before following his passion for running full-time, Eric was a high school History teacher, Cross Country, and Track & Field coach at Pensacola Catholic HS for twenty-five years. He left education in 2022 to serve as Director for Run Pensacola, an event management company, in Pensacola, FL, and to pursue private coaching. He is a USATF and V.O2 certified coach and has been a competitive runner and coach for 40 years. After growing up in Massachusetts, Eric competed collegiately at the University of West Florida where he qualified for seven NAIA National Championships and earned his BA in History. He went on to complete his Master of Arts in History at UWF. While continuously driven by the sport, Eric is still a competitive marathoner and triathlete, completing over 30+ marathons and an Ironman. He has a wife, Connie, and three adult children, Devon, Sidney, and Kendall.
