ATLANTA - NOVEMBER 21, 2020 -- We won't have four lanes of Peachtree Road or the entire width of 10th Street to cross this year, but runners and walkers in the Virtual Running of the AJC Peachtree Road Race can make their own memories and win money toward their next home improvement project by entering the Start/Finish Line Contest Built by The Home Depot.
Atlanta Track Club, organizers of the Peachtree, kicked off the competition with a chalk mural in front of their headquarters in Atlanta's Armour Yards District. Local designer Courtney Garvin brought the mural to life over the span of six hours earlier this month. "I made it look kind of digital because it's virtual this year," said Garvin of her design. "And there are fall leaves because it's the one time we will have the Peachtree in the fall."
To be part of the contest, share your start/finish line - whether it be made of chalk, paint, balloons or anything else you can think of - with Atlanta Track Club on social media using hashtags #AJCPRR #PRRStartFinish #HomeDepot. Be sure to tag Atlanta Track Club and The Home Depot. Entries will be accepted on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and through email at social@atlantatrackclub.org from November 23 - 29.
Monday, November 30, the Top 10 entries will be placed on Facebook for a vote. Winners will be announced Wednesday, December 2 with 1st, 2nd and 3rd highest votes receiving $500, $250 and $100 gift cards to The Home Depot.
