Join Atlanta Track Club, in partnership with South Fulton Running Partners, for the first stop on the 2023 Grand Prix Series presented by Summit Coffee. Jerome Scales was a longtime member of Atlanta Track Club who served on its Board of Directors for seven years. Jerome was a fixture in the Atlanta running community and adopted the motto "one mile at a time," and focused on finding joy in the journey of running regardless of how far or how fast.

ABOUT JEROME SCALES

Jerome Scales was a longtime member of Atlanta Track Club who served on its Board of Directors for seven years. Diagnosed with tonsil cancer in 2016, he died on June 20, 2019.

Jerome was a fixture in the Atlanta running community, spreading his love for running to anyone nearby. Even after he was diagnosed, he never let the disease deter him from running or from influencing others to do the same. He adopted the motto "one mile at a time," and focused on finding joy in the journey of running regardless of how far or how fast. Learn more about Jerome and Big Rome Running here

Course time limit:

  • 5M: 1 hour and 30 minutes (18 minute per mile pace)
  • 5K: 1 hour and 15 minutes (25 minute per mile pace)

For the safety and enjoyment of everyone, no headphones, pets or wheeled conveyances of any kind, including roller/inline skates, and bicycles are permitted on the course.

Race Day Registration begins at 6:30 a.m.

Timing & Results

Unofficial results available online the afternoon of the event. Results are made official approximately two weeks after the event, after all inquires have been processed.

Your timing device for this event is the Chronotrack single use B-tag. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm your bib is...

  • Clearly visible on the front of the torso
  • Unaltered and unmodified (Do not fold or wrinkle)
  • Pinned in all four corners
  • Not covered (jackets, fuel belts, etc.)

Atlanta Track Club is a member organization of both the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) & USA Track & Field (USATF) and adheres to the guidelines and rules of competition in the events Atlanta Track Club conducts & provides.

Virtual Runners

Those selecting the Jerome Scales Southside virtual option will be asked to complete their race between January 20 and January 22. Results must be submitted by Monday, January 23 at 12:00 p.m. Virtual runners will not be eligible for the David Jordan award in 2023.

Your Participant Account

Take a moment to familiarize yourself with your participant account from haku. There you'll find your race category and distance, race number pickup time slot, race start time, and check-in pass. You can switch distances, change your category to virtual, purchase Will Call and edit your emergency contact information. Athletes with Disabilities

In order to serve all our athletes, Atlanta Track Club offers opportunities for Athletes with Disabilities (AWD). If you are an AWD and interested in participating in Publix Atlanta Marathon, Half Marathon or 5K, please email awd@atlantatrackclub.org, to discuss what reasonable accommodations can be made based on your specific needs. Atlanta Track Club officials will provide reasonable accommodation to Athletes with Disabilities on an individualized and event by event basis.

MARTA & Parking

All participants are encourage to ride MARTA to the event. The race will start & finish on MARTA property.

Free parking is available on site at College Park MARTA.
